Sunday nights are never the best nights for gigs, nobody can be bothered to turn up, and the atmosphere never grows. Taking that into account, it comes as no surprise to see that tonight’s gig is played in front of less than a hundred people.

Review: Eye Alaska – Yellow & Elephant EP

If this EP had to be summed up into in one word, that word could be ‘wow’. It is quite possibly the best EP that has come from the Fearless Records roster.

Yellow & Elephant is the debut release for Eye Alaska and it is indeed an amazing and exceptional start. Whilst managing to bring me back to my childhood Saturdays listening to my parents play soul tracks from artists such as Lauryn Hill, it also combines a vibrant sound found only existing in today’s music scene.

Underoath new single, dates, and competition!

Underoath will be releasing their new single, Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear on April 20th through Virgin Records.  The band will also be returning to the UK to play the Give It A Name festival on April 18th and 19th at Manchester Academy and London Brixton Academy.

To coincide with this, they are inviting fans to enter a competition to make a video for their new single and post it on Youtube, with the band choosing the winner and nine runners up. The winner will be given backstage access to hang out with Underoath at Give It A Name and the runners up will each receive autographed deluxe box-sets. See more details and watch the videos HERE!


Review: Valencia – We All Need A Reason To B-Side

Back in the summer of 2008, when times weren’t so economically challenging, Valencia, released their long-awaited sophomore album and major label debut, We All Need A Reason To Believe, easily my record of the year.

However, this is March 2009, and, financially, we’re all pretty much fucked, but who cares? Because those Philly pop-punkers have released an EP, featuring four tracks which didn’t quite make the album cut, aptly named, We All Need A Reason To B-Side!
