Coming all the way from Essex seems like quite a trek for a small Newcastle show; nonetheless, Tomorrow Belongs To Us have made said trek, and go on pretty much straight after doors. While their music is pretty bog-standard by any stretch of the imagination, it’s worth noting vocalist Rob Maddison has a mad hefty roar in his lungs. Surely he’d be a lot better suited to a metalcore band that this somewhat bland hybrid of A Day To Remember-esque easycore. It’s not that the band do anything particularly wrong at all, but they pull out a mixed box of songs that sound like it’s all just been done before, and the quintet need to really find their sound to progress any further.

February 3, 2011
Whilst they plough the UK with their melodic-metalcore sound; Forever Never have decided upon releasing something a little different to say the least; their latest offering comes in the form of the I Can’t Believe it’s Not Metal! EP, which is pretty much as it says on the tin: a cover album that sounds absolutely horrendous on paper, let’s see how it pans out.
Live Review: Twin Atlantic – Durham Live Lounge – January 21st 2011
January 27, 2011
Durham Live Lounge is really starting to pick off it’s feet now; in the past half a year or so since it’s opening, the venue has played host to the likes of Gallows and the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, as well as Anathema and Welsh heroes Funeral For A Friend still to come. Tonight, plays host to Glasgow’s Twin Atlantic on a pretty intimate outing around the UK in preperation for their highly-anticipated debut full-length yet to be released; the attendance is a bit thin, let’s put the band’s mettle to the test…

January 8, 2011Review: Golden Tanks – Golden Tanks (EP)
November 28, 2010
It’s a glorious time for UK hardcore at present – there’s so many gems sprouting up all over the country in recent times, and Reading five-piece Golden Tanks are no exception. The name assumedly being a homage to the Cancer Bats song of the same name, they don’t sound too unlike the Canadian outfit. This self-titled debut offering oozes personality and physical presence from the get go.
Live Review: Paramore – Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, November 18th 2010
November 23, 2010
What a strange set up we have here – a virtually unheard of opener, a chart-storming R’n'B artist, and arguably the biggest name in pop-rock currently doing the rounds. It’s incredible how far Paramore have come in just four years since visiting the UK for the first time, now playing to in excess of ten thousand people in Newcastle tonight – wonder if a certain Twitter picture has anything to do with it all?
Live Review: The Menzingers – The Northumberland Arms, Newcastle, November 17th 2010
November 23, 2010
With ska-punk legends Less Than Jake playing down the road, there’s obviously a bit of uncertainty regarding how The Menzingers will fare, but the 50 or so that are gathered into the dingy Northumberland Arms plausibly manage to pack the venue out.
